For around a year now , Apple has been switching to its own M - family mainframe across the Mac reach – starting with the M1 - fit Mac mini , MacBook Air and entry - level MacBook Pro in November 2020 , and culminate most recently in the high - endMacBook Pros with M1 Pro and M1 Max chipsannounced last nighttime . In the process the company has abandoned Intel ’s C.P.U. after 15 years of collaboration .

This was part of a wider campaign calledGoPC , which does everything it can to get customer to select PCs over Macs , and is n’t afraid to explicitly attack Apple along the way of life .

“ The truth is that loyal Mac users may have unknowingly made deal - offs when it come in to their computers , ” the campaign argues . “ Once we shed lightness on those trade - offs , that ’s when the real magic hap , and the choice is clear . The bottom line is that a PC with Intel within is build for the user , and a PC can give users choices a Mac but does n’t offer . ”

But Intel looks like doing a fleck of ‘ good bull , spoiled fuzz ’ , because as well as attack Apple it has been attempting tosmooth the companies ’ relationship .

Most recently , in an consultation withAxios , Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger says the company still hop to reanimate the partnership . He admits that Apple has done a good business with its M1 chips , and that this mean the company will have to tread up a gear if it is to win back the US electronics giant as a customer .

you could watch a clip from the interview here :

If Apple ca n’t be persuaded to switch back to Intel chips , Gelsinger hopes it can at least take over product of Apple ’s own Saratoga chip . Such a solution would be a major blow to Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co ( TSMC ) , the company that makes most of Apple ’s processors today .

The likelihood of Apple abandoning its own poker chip is say to be almost nil , but it ’s not all out of the question that Intel could be put in charge of the manufacturing in the long run .
