Savannah Innovation Labs’ founder says Sudan is still fertile ground for innovation
Businesses need stableness to thrive . Unfortunately for anyone in Sudan , stability has been toilsome to come by for the retiring year and a half as the land quakesamidst a raging polite war . More than20,000 people have been killed , and about7.7 million people have been displacedjust within the commonwealth ; millions have had to take flight across international borders as refugees .

“ The main idea was that we should continue to do the piece of work , ” he say . “ One , because there are still young hoi polloi in the state who are eager to go before and build businesses and instruct and so onward . They do not have the way to leave the country . second , if and when the war stops , we do n’t need to go back to square zero [ and start ] excuse to people what term sheets are or what equity is and what company formation should face like . ”

In pursuit of talent

Yahya , who is also a better half at venture firm Africa Renaissance Partners , says he is keen to bridge capital gap in untapped markets like Tanzania , Ethiopia , Uganda , and especially those considered risky due to conflict , like Sudan and Democratic Republic of Congo ( DRC ) .
