The old Siri face for Apple Watch has finally been removed , as of the launch of watchOS 11 . It seems likely that the determination was made to push users towards the similar but newfangled Smart Stacks interface option ( shown above ) , which Apple has improved in the software update .

Zac Hall of9to5Macmade the discovery , and deserves superfluous credit for having predicted it would happen this sentence last year .

“ As of watchOS 10 , ” Hall write at the sentence , “ the Siri ticker face is six version old . It debuted with much potential and made steps toward realizing that potential before it stalled . Now there ’s a Modern gadget organisation on Apple Watch that ferment the Siri watch face into an oldtimer . ”

The then - new widget organisation referred to is Smart Stack , a major interface pinch that debuted inwatchOS 10 in 2023 . Rather than being a vigil look in its own right field , the Smart Stack is a change of view that can be accessed from any cheek ( other than the Siri one ) by scrolling up on the Digital Crown . This lend up a vertically scrolling pile of doojigger that the system of rules thinks may be of stake .

Apple appears committed to Smart Stack , and the organisation got an upgrade in the newly announcedwatchOS 11update , which is presently in genus Beta . This enable it to sport Live activity and become smarter about predicting what widgets you ’ll need to see based on your workaday and additional information such as the location and weather stipulation .

Siri Watch Face

The Siri spotter expression looks and behaves roughly the same as the Smart Stack , but obviously has the disadvantage of being a side rather than a feature access from a face ; you ca n’t well go back to a nonpayment face with other complications ( peculiarly since Apple removed the dim-witted swipe to switch between faces ) . It always seemed unknown to have both Siri face and Smart Stack even though , as Hall noted last year , Apple does n’t loosely murder faces .

Well , now it has . And the ( presumptively low ) radical of people who currently expend the Siri sentinel facial expression can be consoled by the idea that by switching to a different face and then accessing Smart Stack from there , they will get all the same benefits , plus improved performance and promiscuous entree to other complication .

watchOS 11 will roll out to the Apple Watch Series 6 and later as a finished update in the fall . ( Here’show to update watchOS on your Apple Watch . ) For now it ’s available as a beta version for developer ; a public beta is potential to come along some time in July .
