Apple on Tuesday introduceda young app called Invitesthat lets users make tradition invitations and share them with family and friend along with photo albums and playlists . But while the app might have been a surprisal , it was n’t a pleasant one for everyone .

Over on X , the Maker of event app Partifulposted a screenshotof plane section 4.1(a ) of the App Review Guidelines , which refers to Copycats . The section reads , “ add up up with your own ideas . We cognise you have them , so make yours come to spirit . Do n’t just copy the tardy pop app on the App   Store , or make some minor changes to another app ’s name or UI and pass it off as your own . In addition to put on the line an intellectual attribute infringement claim , it lay down the App   Store harder to voyage and just is n’t bonnie to your fellow developers . ”

The screenshot is a thinly veiled dig at Apple Invites ’ moderately derivative concept and interface . Partiful was a 2024 finalist for Apple ’s Cultural Impact awarding , so it was clearly on Cupertino ’s radar . While there are differences , it ’s hard not to seedistinct similaritiesbetween the Apple Invites and Partiful interface .
