As you have probably heard by now , Apple is bear itsfirst special result of the year on March 8 . As is tradition , Apple sent out invitation to the press with a single image and a short tagline — this sentence , it was the Apple logo in multiple colours in an “ infinity mirror ” receding style and the tagline “ Peek Performance . ”

Apple ’s event invitations often ( but not always ! ) contain minuscule hints about what the company intend to reveal . The last event boast the Apple logo in a “ warp stop number ” sort of starfield effect and the tagline “ Unleashed . ” In hindsight , it was an obvious credit to the first appearance of Macs with the M1 Pro and M1 Max chips , the fastest Apple has ever produced . In the natural spring of 2019 , the invitation showed the Apple logotype on a darkened stage with the tagline “ It ’s Show Time , ” and the nidus of the effect was on the launch of Apple TV+ ( along with several other services ) . “ Hi , Speed ” bring the 5 gm iPhone 12 and , well , you get the idea .

So what could the “ Peek Performance ” invitation be in reference to ? Perhaps it ’s not really a hint at all … several Apple event invitations just sort of generically reference speed or performance without of necessity referring to any special product . But what playfulness is that ? We did a little shameless speculation about the Apple event invitation and this is what we come up with .

The boring, safe bet: iPhone SE and iPad Air

Thethird - coevals iPhone SEis almost certainly going to be announced . With the A15 CPU and 5 gramme capability , it ’ll be the fastest iPhone SE ever ( naturally ) and an extremely spanking iPhone for the monetary value ( expected to set about at $ 399 andpossibly scummy ) . Apple will also update the iPad Air to the A15 CPU with 5 G in the cellular models .

That ’s not really a new high - performance bar , but it ’s taking the “ peak ” of Apple ’s public presentation and apply it to more affordable products . It ’s a little ho-hum , but it ’s safe .

The raw iPhone SE will reportedly have a faster CPU and 5G.

The exciting option: M2 and a redesigned MacBook Air

A raw iPhone SE and iPad Air , no matter how nice , do n’t seem like a “ operation ” maneuver . Anew MacBook Air with an M2processor , that ’s a bragging deal !

We predict that the M2 will bequite a lot fasterthan the M1 ( though not quite on equivalence with the bigger , pricey M1 Pro and M1 Max ) . The newfangled MacBook Air is rumour to have a new purpose with fragile bezel , flat edge , more embrasure , and MagSafe . And it ’s rumored to come in color like the 24 - inch iMac … just like that Apple logotype in the invitation !

“ Peek ” is obviously a bid on “ peak ” since this is a look at products that may not ship for a few calendar week , and an all - raw MacBook Air with much faster operation , farseeing bombardment liveliness , and a Modern design definitely hits the “ peak execution ” slant . Another rumor said that Apple willcontinue to sell the older 13 - inch MacBook Pro , the one with the turgid bezels and the M1 mainframe , only with the M1 replace by the M2 . We do n’t think that ’s a large approximation ( with the14 - in modelout there , we do n’t really need a 13 - column inch modeling any longer ) but if that ’s the way Apple is going , it could come along at this event , too . The M1 Mac miniskirt could get the same treatment .

Both the Intel and M1 Mac mini are due for an rising slope .

Unlikely but possible: The 27-inch iMac and new Mac mini

What we really want to see is the novel expectant iMac , the one slat to replace the current Intel - based 27 - column inch model . Nobody ’s certain if it will be call the iMac Pro or not , but it ’s likely to have the M1 Pro / Max central processor and an HDR display with mini - LED backlighting . It ’s expect to follow the design changes of thenew 24 - inch iMac , although perhaps with bolder colors ( or maybe just silver and outer space gray ) .

We ’ve heard anew high - end Mac miniis on the room for quite some time now . It ’s supposed to be in full redesign , standardized in pattern but more colorful with a great power spark plug similar to that on the 24 - column inch iMac and more ports than you ’ll find on the current M1 - based simulation . Oh , and it should come in colors , too .

New products that use Apple ’s fastest - ever processors , the M1 Pro and M1 Max , surely vocalise like a “ peak execution ” situation . Neither product is rumored to strike the market until at least WWDC this summer , but we ’ve been storm by an Apple outcome before !

The 27 - inch iMac could be in business for a makeover like the 24 - inch exemplar .

Not a chance: Apple Glass

“ Peek ” is obviously in reference to something visual ! And that space - mirror issue on the Apple logo … it canonlymean one thing :

Apple Glass .

That ’s correct , along with a cluster of pedestrian processor climb in other ware , Apple is going to show off itsAR glasses . Or a VR headset , or whatever it ’s fetch to market first . It wo n’t fare with any pricing or unfreeze escort other than “ late 2022 ” but it ’ll wow everyone with a demonstration that is mile beyond any of the augmented realism stuff we ’ve see so far .

Or not . There ’s really no fortune that this is blend to happen . When Apple embark the grocery with AR glass , even if it ’s just for a pricey developer - focused model , it ’s move to do it at a bigger case , hopefully with in - person attendance . But we can dream .
